After buying an existing inner city apartment the brief sought to make it their own. A new interior, functional spatial arrangement and roof terrace were designed to complement the couples way of living.
A key consideration was the inclusion of a prominent custom made dining table to become the heart of the house and cater for the clients love of entertaining.
Existing floor boards have been refinished and spatial planning has been carefully considered that, although compact, nurtures the allusion of space, enhancing the connection to the dining and living areas.
An abundance of plants and an interior palette of soft timbers and light materials draws upon the clients love for nature and promotes a sense of continuity between exterior and interior.
Through the introduction of a new roof terrace more space is introduced and a second ‘living/dining area’ is created.
A key feature on the terrace was the inclusion of a bathtub making use of the exterior space. Permits were acquired and terrace built in collaboration with De Dakdokters, Amsterdam.
The resulting home has now become a sanctuary where the couple can find comfort in their beloved home with family and friends.
